It’s almost the end of March. I’m not sure how that happened so quickly, but I’m excited to be where we are on the calendar because it’s nearly my birthday and the Phillies’ regular season starts tomorrow. Despite the colder weather returning and special weather statements about snow showers popping up on my phone, I know that spring is getting ready to make its appearance: forsythia buds are ready to burst open, robins are very full of eggs in our yard, and the green hyacinth and daffodil shoots are sprouting up in our garden. I also know spring is almost here because I’m feeling more energized to walk outside, roll down my car windows, and sit on our porch swing. But, the coming of spring means that 2025 already is one-quarter of the way over, and we need to check in and be honest with ourselves about where we are with our resolutions and intentions… you know, those promises we made to ourselves on New Year’s. Yeah, those. How are those coming along?

Considering that so many of my friends and clients are struggling with their sleep, schedules, and work-home demands right now, I’m not so sure we are living up to those promises. And I bet some of us have forgotten what we set out to accomplish in 2025. Fear not! We still have three-quarters of 2025 left, and it’s never too late to start on the right path. And now that the holidays are past us, the sunlight is shining longer, and the weather is starting to cooperate a bit more, we may be more likely to succeed now than we would have in January or February. The first step is getting started. Unfortunately, getting started often feels like the most challenging part. It seems like we don’t have enough time, especially because our schedules are so crazy this time of year. And we aren’t sure how to get started. And we can rattle off a thousand excuses and barriers…

So, what would happen if you reevaluated your 2025 intentions or resolutions and modified them to be a little more realistic and a little less overwhelming? What if you broke down your intentions into chunks or steps so you don’t feel like you have to do it all at once? What if you found an accountability partner to help you stay on track? Nobody said you have to do this alone or that self-care needs to entail drastic changes. I’ve written before about how to take baby steps and work up to creating new habits, and that’s often the best way to get started. It’s also helpful to identify benchmark goals in addition to your overall goal, i.e., I will walk one mile per day this week and then 1.5 miles per week next week, etc., or I will read for 10 minutes a night this week and then 15 minutes a night next week, etc. Celebrate your progress and be gentle with yourself.

Or, what if you scheduled an initial consultation with me to see how I can help you identify your goals and benchmarks, keep you accountable, and overcome the negative self-talk or self-doubt that stands in your way? Or, what if you scheduled a chakra reading and a Reiki healing session to help you realign your energy and clean out the negative, stagnant energy to get a fresh start for your body and mind for spring? I also offer hybrid Reiki healing/consulting sessions for clients who want to engage in energy healing and then process in a single session. Sometimes, we have to physically schedule time to take care of ourselves if we have any hope of following through: maybe it’s time to schedule with B Connecting.

I provide a safe space for clients to share their strengths, weaknesses, failures, and triumphs and then make plans to improve their personal and/or professional lives.
